TESTIMONIALS

Over the years I have had the pleasure of being the host and MC for numerous charity and corporate events in Central & Western Canada.  If you are interested in me hosting your next business function, awards show, charity fundraiser, fashion show or red carpet gala, I would love to hear from you.

Simply send me an email and I will be in touch.

The following are a few of the testimonials I have received from clients:

"JT, I like your style...sounds great. I'd like to add you to my professional network on LinkedIn and keep in touch. I think you have a very conversational delivery style and a genuine baritone voice that is friendly and not forced. Most radio jocks tend to sound fake in their delivery because they are trying to imitate a big voice.  You are very talented and once more you have a drive and passion that any smart company will value.
Seriously, I have worked from Buffalo to Albany New York in 4 of our upstate cities and there is no one who is doing some of the stuff you have done on radio and seen in your videos. You remind me of the way radio jocks used to be. The first time I went on the air was 1982 at Syracuse University...so I grew up being influenced by all the Jocks in the 70's. You remind me of those fun times.

"In April of 2014, James Taylor (JT) was our MC for a fundraiser that we put on annually called, "The Small & Mighty Celebration". All proceeds from this go to the Kids with Cancer Society and Make A Wish Foundation of Northern Alberta. Around 350 people attend and about 100 of those are children. The night is emotional and the audience is filled with children fighting cancer as well as their family and friends so it requires a special type of individual to be an effective MC and engage the audience.

When JT agreed to MC for us, my daughter and I met him prior to the event.  From the moment we began speaking with him we knew that he was a perfect match for the job.  He listened to why this night means so much to us and remained in contact with us finalizing details until the event. He even volunteered to go through his music collection to find the perfect song for the slide show and created a 'Name That Tune'  game for the audience to participate in.

JT connected with the children from the minute he entered the room.  We introduced him to one little girl who felt so comfortable with him that she allowed him to lift her up so she could light a candle for the candle lighting ceremony.  JT was attentive to the mood in the room and was fabulous about interacting with the children as they spoke on stage.  He has a natural ability to make you feel comfortable around him and is the kind of person that makes you feel like you have known him your whole life.  The day after the event I received numerous calls telling me how impressed people were with JT's MC skills.

I would enthusiastically recommend him as a MC and I have referred him to friends who host events."

"I had the pleasure of getting to know JT as Morning Show Host at The River in Kamloops through my work as Community Awareness Coordinator for The Kamloops Society for Community Living. JT's support of our activities surpassed the typical on-air endorsement that often accompanies corporate sponsorship of community events. He took great care to understand the objective of each initiative and was very creative in his work to engage his audience in every cause. I found him to be extremely professional, supportive and wonderfully easy to work with. JT never failed to employ his natural charisma in every interaction - from on-air interviews to event hosting. During his time in Kamloops, JT acquired a large following of dedicated listeners who were very sad to see him go.

I wholeheartedly endorse his candidacy for any position in radio broadcasting seeking to engage listeners. After 20 years working in non profit communications, I have rarely encountered a "personality" who was truly present in every conversation and committed to the success of each and every project undertaken. If you are looking for a dedicated professional with genuine charisma, wit and dedication to community building . . he's your guy!"

BC Manager - Run for the Cure for Cancer

“The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation - BC/Yukon Region has a solid track record working with 97.5 FM in Kamloops and we are so pleased to align ourselves with them as a local sponsor of the CIBC Run for the Cure year after year. I worked with James on the 2011 Run and he proved to be a consumate professional. He is engaging, dynamic, thoughtful and knows how to motivate a crowd of 1,500 + participants and volunteers. He managed our Run day program with sensitivity and humour and kept us on time from beginning to end. I look forward to working with him on this year's Run and I would not hesitate to recommend him to other organizations. His post-Run follow-up, including videography from the event, was a personal touch and very appreciated."

"It is my pleasure on behalf of the Canadian Home Builders Association Central Interior to provide a letter of appreciation for the work that James Taylor, "JT", did with regard to the 2011 Keystone Awards.

This is a black tie Gala which recognizes excellence in the Home Building industry in our region.  This annual event is held at Thompson Rivers University and has an attendance of 350 people.

"JT" was our emcee for the event and he did an excellent job.  He was engaged from the outset and was invested in the event's success.

He attended every pre-event meeting and rehearsal, arriving well researched and prepared to contribute his ideas for the event.  He was attentive and receptive to our requests.

Being the local morning show host, he was able to interact with the crowd with interesting and humorous anecdotes, while maintaining a professional demeanor.  He even joined in the flash mob, which drew great applause from the audience.

He is a consumate professional and contributed significantly to the success of the Keystone Awards Gala and we would welcome his talents to any of our events.  His relocation to the lower mainland is a great loss for Kamloops."

Kari Smith
Kamloops Food Bank Event Coordinator

“Working at a not-for-profit agency has it challenges. Budgets are limited and having the ability to get your message out to the masses is important in generating donations and attendance at events. During his time at the River 97.5 FM, James Taylor (JT) was always more than accommodating.

JT became not just a supporter of the Kamloops Food Bank through endless radio interviews and plugs during his show, he became a friend. His ability to show compassion to our clients and their needs was appreciated. He had an ability to talk about our clients in such a way that it became relatable for his listeners. He reminded everyone that life happens and that anyone could be in a line up at a Food Bank.

Whether he was promoting our Rotary Food Drives, the CP Holiday Train or talking about our client numbers and the need at the Food Bank, JT’s professionalism and dedication was evident in each interview.

JT will be missed not just by the Kamloops Food Bank, but by the Community of Kamloops.  He became an active part of the Community while living here.  We wish JT luck in his future endeavours."

"This letter is in support of James Taylor's community involvement during his time working in Kamloops.  My experience working with JT confirms this.

JT is approachable, upbeat and very comfortable promoting events both on air and in the community.  I was on the volunteer committee for the CIBC Run for the Cure for two years and JT was the celebrity host on event day as well as on air promotions.  He was able to bring his own personal connection to the event and as such his commitment was authentic and pivotal to the success of the event.  He has maintained this role during his tenure in Kamloops.

I have often been an on air guest of his show and he is flexible and accomodating to meet my schedule and give his best to the cause.  In the past year we held an inaugural event where JT agreed to be "arrested" by the RCMP and take his show on air asking for people to post his bail.  We watched him run his show from a jail cell, and by the number of calls to his rescue it was very apparent that he has a committed audience and following.

His sense of fun, community spirit, and willingness to step up to the plate makes JT a welcome addition to any community."

“On behalf of Prostate Cancer Foundation BC, I would like to thank JT for being a part of our 13th annual Father's Day Walk/Run for Prostate Cancer at the Wildlife Park.

His tremendous support helped the foundation raise over $11,000 at our Kamloops event and has contributed to our grand total of $1.5 million nationally.  We were told by many that the event was fantastic and made them feel like coming back next year.  That is exactly what we hoped JT's support would do, and we thank you very much.  Thanks again for helping to make it all happen.

I have been a loyal listener and follower of JT's radio/media program for years. His vibrant personality is unmatched, and has the ability to capture his audience through all his shows. JT is friendly, upbeat, has timely humour, a generous spirit and a genuine personality that shines. He is extremely kind, courteous, and popular with his listeners and followers. His ability to communicate clearly, captivates and holds his audience, while his professionalism is second to none. JT also has the ability to encourage his audience to feel like they are part of the show with his quick wit, contagious laugh, and kind words. It is clear that James is highly valued among his audience and his peers. It's evident that he puts pride in all his media projects, with his biggest asset being his passion for his audience.

I highly recommend James Taylor. His expertise and loyalty will be a positive asset to your business. You may contact me, Anne Thalen, at 780 289-9633 or via e-mail athalen@shaw.ca

“JT” as he is known on the airwaves, is an energetic and dynamic person. His charismatic personality is both engaging and endearing to his listeners.  I listened to a station for a few years on my drive to and from work, but never during the day as I do not have a radio in the office. On the couple of occasions that I had errands to run during the mid-day, I heard this wonderful, rich voice, and listened carefully to what was being said as this man on the air drew my attention in the way that he reached out to his listeners. It got me curious, so I started streaming the station from my computer at work. I, along with all of his other listeners, came to look forward to JT’s show. We missed him immensely on the days that he was not on the air.

I believe that James Taylor would be an extremely valuable asset to your organization and would boost your ratings with his lively and interactive show. It's obvious he spends a great deal of time preparing for it, and it shows in the topics that he brings to the microphone. For me personally, he was the ONLY one who made me feel important and valuable, and also made us feel that our input to his topics was wanted and needed. He has a wonderful and vibrant sense of humor which clearly comes through, and he loves to interact with his listeners.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I hope that you will seriously consider hiring this extremely talented, caring and funny man. I know that he can and will do fantastic things for your station.  I would enthusiastically recommend him as a MC and I have referred him to friends who host events."

"I have known JT through the media industry for many years. JT has been very supportive and instrumental in helping to promote the
Heart&Stroke mission. Over the years JT has been very open to regular on air interviews and has been consistent in promoting our
events to help raise the awareness of heart disease and stroke.

When working with JT I have found him to be organized, efficient, extremely competent, and has an excellent rapport with people. I
found his communication skills excellent especially when exploring the issues at hand.

JT’s openness and willingness to support our community events has played an important role in the events success.

In summary, I highly recommend JT for any position or endeavor that he may seek to pursue. JT would be a valuable asset for any
organization."
